How to Install One UI on Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung has released a new and revolutionary user interface for its future devices. Samsung is also pushing this update to some of its flagship smartphones to keep them coming ready as well. After successfully releasing it to the Galaxy S9, S9+ and Galaxy Note 9, Samsung has released a beta update to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices but to install it on your smartphone; you have to sideload it. Here is a step by step installation guide to install it on your Galaxy S8 or S8+.

Steps to Install One UI on Galaxy S8 and S8+

  1. Download the Odin software and the essential files; update zip for CRK to CRL1, update zip from CRL1 to DRL6 and the CRK1 Odin files (Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S8.
  2. The Odin files contain the zip named SM-G950U_1_20181108104414_f9mqimhcmz_fac.zip which includes six files.
  3. Boot your Samsung Galaxy S8 to Odin mode by turning it off then holding Power, Volume Down and the Bixby button.
  4. Now open Odin software and click BL, AP, CP, and HOME_CSC then select the files from the ZIP you extracted earlier.
  5. Click the Start button.
  6. Wait from 10 minutes to install the update. Once this is done, turn off your phone then reboot into to the recovery mode by holding power, Bixby, and volume up button.
  7. Now update the phone using the CRK1 to CRL1 OTA zip file.
  8. Use the volume buttons and power button, select “apply update from SD card.”
  9. Use the volume buttons to highlight the update.zip file and then the power button to confirm it. The update will then start, and it will take 10 minutes.
  10. Use the volume buttons to highlight the “apply update from adb” option then launch the command window on your PC and type:
    adb sideload <file location of update.zip>

    Then hit the Enter button. The update will start and will take around 2 to 10 minutes.

  11. Update using the file CRL1 to DRL5 OTA which you downloaded before.
  12. Use the volume buttons and the power button to select “apply update from SD card.”
  13. Use the volume buttons and select “apply update from adb” option. Now, launch a command window on your Windows PC and type
    adb sideload <file location of update.zip>

    then hit the Enter button. The update will start and should take around 2 to 10 minutes

  14. Reboot your phone and enjoy the new One UI beta.
